World Mission Sunday
2016: Mercy Changes the World
In 2016, we will celebrate World Mission Sunday in our parish on October 16. World Mission Sunday, organized by the Propagation of the Faith, is a day set aside for Catholics worldwide to recommit themselves to the Church's missionary activity through prayer and sacrifice.
A Sunday to be Merciful to the Whole World...
Your prayers and generous support offered to the Society for the Propagation of the Faith on World Mission Sunday directly benefit the mission Church - places like the Central African Republic and Sri Lanka, Fiji and Tanzania, where young churches are growing, filled with zeal for the faith, but struggling with lack of resources for outreach to communities in need.
"Mercy Changes the World" - and through your prayers and financial support on World Mission Sunday, you too can be merciful to those most in need - half a world away - by supporting the priests, religious Sisters and Brothers, and lay catechists who provide them loving service. Thank you!
St. Mary Cathedral distributed special envelopes for this collection stapled to bulletins the weekend of October 8/9. Please complete your envelope and return for World Mission Sunday weekend, October 15/16. If you did not receive an envelope, you can simply place your donation in any envelope and label it World Mission Sunday and place in the offertory basket or mail to the parish office at 606 N Ohio Avenue, Gaylord, MI 49735. Checks should be made payable to "St. Mary Cathedral"
